TORONTO - More events and more money are in store for the Grand Slam of Curling.The property owned, operated and televised by Sportsnet will expand to seven bonspiels and prize money of $1.5 million next season. That will be followed by eight events for $2.5 million in 2016-17.This years Grand Slam of Curling consists of five events worth $1 million and offered an additional $1-million bonus to the mens team that swept all five.That bonus wont be paid, however, as Brad Gushue of St. Johns, N.L., won two out of the first three with Winnipegs Mike McEwen claiming the other.The Grand Slam currently consists of the Masters, National, Canadian Open, Elite 10 and concludes with the Players Championship.
