Americans who prefer to get news online and those who watch television news reports, according to a new survey conducted by Pew Research Center recently.
The statistics showed that as of August, 43 percent of Americans reported that they got news from the internet, only seven percentage points lower than the 50 percent who would like to receive news reports from TV.
The gap between the two news platforms had shrank significantly from 19 points in early 2016, said the survey.
The research also found that the rise in online news consumption has been more obvious in people of older age group.
The percentage of recipients of 65 years old and above who chose to read news online has jumped from 20 percent to 30 percent.
The 50-64 age group has seen an increase from 29 percent to 35 percent.
According to the survey, the decline in TV news use occurred across all three types Cheap Washington Nationals Jersey , namely local, network and cable TV, while most noticeable plunge has been found for local TV news.
As of August, 37 percent of Americans said they often watched local TV news, compared with 46 percent in early 2016.
